Students' Welfare Fund :

The college maintains a student's welfare fund to provide financial help to the poor and deserving students on application from such students subject to the availability of funds.

Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular activities:

In addition to the prescribed course of study the college encourages and motivates the students to organize and participate effectively in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as games and sports, drama, fine-arts, literary and cultural activities, debating, symposium, etc. from time to time.

Games and Sports:

There is a sports library for students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. Facilities for games like football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, table tennis, carom, chess, handball, etc. are available in the college. The college is affiliated to Guwahati Sports Association (GSA).

N.C.C.

The college has full fledged N.C.C. unit with three wings : Army Navy and Air wing. Besides, there is also a Girls' Wing of the N.C.C. Regular Training is imparted throughout the year under trained Associate N.C.C. Officers (A.N.O)

National Service Scheme (NSS) & Scouts & Guides :

National Service Scheme was introduced in the College in the year 1978 with financial aid from the Govt. of India. Under this scheme, students organize Social Service in backward rural areas and also undertake Adult Education Programme.

Cultural and Other Activities :

In order to promote and develop social and intellectual aptitude of the students various co-curricular activities are organized by P.C.S.S. through Extension Education Programme. Seminars, Exhibitons are held from time to time in which students may participate and express their views.

Pragiyotish College Science Society (PCSS):

The PCSS established on 1990 and registered under the Society's Registration Act XXI of 1860 is consistently engaged for the last 17 years in the activities like - * Career Guidance, Counseling, Project Assignment, and Follow-up programme for students, *Programme for enhancing the teachers' effectiveness, * Conduct different skill forming activities for students, * Adoption of income and employment generating programme and * Formulation and execution of self-evaluation process etc.

College Magazine

The College magazine PRAGJYOTISHIYA is the medium for developing literary and other potentialities of the students. It publishes articles and creative write-ups contributed by students and teachers and reviews of educational, cultural, social and sports activities of the college. The magazine is published by a student editor under the guidance and supervision of an Editorial Board.

Students' Union : (P.C.S.U.)

The Pragjyotish College Students Union is the general body of the students of the college, Its membership is compulsory for every student admitted to the college. The office bearers of the Union are elected annually through the method of direct voting. The Union endeavours to foster and promote fraternity, mutual understanding and sense of responsibility among the students. The Students' Union organises games and sports, debates, cultural and social activities among the students in College Week organised annually.

Career Guidance, Councelling & Placement Cells :

The Student's Career Counseling Cell was constituted in 2001 with the following aims and objectives:

(i) To provide information regarding careers.

(ii) To create awareness about self-employment and entrepreneurship career option among the students.

(iii) To provide basic information about opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship and support system available.

Placement Cell is constituted in 2007 with a view to :

(i) Providing assistance to students for various companies recruitment time to time

(ii) Providing job-oriented training to students seeking jobs.

Besides this central Career Counseling Cell, there are other counseling cells, run by Pragjyotish College Science Society and some departments.

Perusal of Notice board :

Students should, in their own interest, read everyday all the notices displayed on the Notice Board from time to time and be fully aware of the information displayed thereon.

Merit Scholarship and Stipends :

A number of meritorious students who obtain more than 70%

marks in the last final examination i.e. H.S.L.C. or H.S. Final Examination shall enjoy merit Scholarship/Stipend within 15 days from the date of their admission. Application not received in time will not be entertained.

Internet :
A student can avail internet facility on payment of requisite fee fixed by the college.

Pay Phone :
A student can avail pay-phone facility in the college.

Computer Printing:
Computer printing facility is also available to the students on nominal payment.

Prag Newsletter :
A quarterly news bulletin of the college is published to highlight the activities of the students and the teachers.
