INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21st June 2016 at 7 a.m in the premises of Pragjyotish College in Collaboration with NCC Wings of Pragjyotish College.

FIRST ALL ASSAM INTER COLLEGE KICKBOXING CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 ORGANISED BY ASSAM KICKBOXING ASSOCIATION (AKA) IN ASSOCIATION WITH PRAGJYOTISH COLLEGE GUWAHATI, Under the auspices of Higher and Secondary Education, Govt of Assam in support of WAKO India and Technical Council of AKA was organized from July 15th to 17th, 2016 at the premises of Pragjyotish College, Guwahati with a moto “THE SPIRIT WINS, NOT MUSCLES”


70th INDEPENDENCE DAY

70th INDEPENDENCE DAYwas celebrated on 15th August 2016 where Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi, Principal (i/c) of Pragjyotish College hosted the NATIONAL FLAG at college campus at 8:00 am which was further followed by the NATIONAL ANTHEM


SCHOOL ADOPTION

In consonance with the noble mission as envisioned by the Govt. of Assam, Pragjyotish College has contemplated on fostering ties with seven educational institutions (in the first phase) located in the Greater Bharalumukh and Santipur localities, thus giving due recognition to them as fellow travellers during the knowledge-seeking journey. These institutions are viz. Sonaram Higher Secondary School, Kaliram Baruah Girls High School, Santipur High School, Natun Fatasil Town High School, Ambari High School, Pragati Pathsala Lower Primary school and Santipur Primary school. This initiative, which is expected to provide a larger platform for integrated educational pursuits, is planned to comprise both short and long-term strategic components. Emphasis would be laid upon imparting classes in these schools by the experienced faculty members of the college, provision of supplementary reading materials, utilization of certain infrastructural provisions of the college by the students reading in these schools and also providing an opportunity for getting enrolled in some of the selected vocational courses offered by the college. All such activities shall be executed with active teacher-student joint participation mode.
