ARTS: B.A. Part -I (General Course)
A student offering general course in Part - I shall shave to
take up the subjects from the following :
Compulsory Subjects : (Two papers i.e. 1 & 2)
(1) Either (a) MIL - (Assamese / Hindi / Bengali / Bodo)
or (b) Alternative English
(2) General English (one Paper)
Elective Subjects (any combination of the following):
(i) Economic & Political Science (ii) Political Science &
Education
(iii) Education & History (iv) Philosophy & Pol. Sc.
(v) Geography & Economics (vi) Statistics (Day Shift only)
(with Economics or Mathematics)
(vii) Anthropology (Only in Day Shift) (with Education or
History)
(viii) Any one of the following Language Subjects
(Assamese/Hindi/Bengali/Sanskrit) & any one of the following
subjects (Education, Philosophy, Economics, Political Science
and History)
A student shall be eligible to offer one vocational subject
(in lieu of one elective subject) from among the following
subjects:
(i) Tourism and Travel Management
(ii) Information Technology
(iii) Functional English
Major Course in Arts : The
college has provision for major courses (only in ?Day Shift)
in English, Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, Economics, Political
Science, History, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Mathematics,
Education, Geography, Statistics and Anthropology.
B.A. Part - II and B.A. Part - III
students must pursue their subjects in accordance with the
Regulation set by Gauhati University. (Resolution No.

In B.Com. Part - I candidates of both Major and
General Courses shall be required to offer the following
papers of 100 marks each.

(2) Any three of the following subjects (to be called 1st, 2nd
and 3rd elective)
(i) Physics
(ii) Chemistry
(iii) Botany
(iv) Zoology
(v) Mathematics (vi)

(vii) Geography
(viii) Statistics
(ix) Computer Science (x) Anthropology
(xi) Environmental Science
(3) Any one of the following vocational subjects may be taken
in lieu of one elective in the general course
only.
(i) Industrial Fish and Fisheries
(ii) Tourism and Travel Management
(iii) Information Technology

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Geology,
